The snow is so beautiful! Right now I am trying to convince my trainer to brave the blizzard. I told him I understand if he wants to back out. I never avoid going out in big storms because everyone else stays home, so if I just drive carefully, it is usually not too bad. Plus I shoveled my driveway and everything. Well, he just decided that it is probably safer for both of us not to go out. So as my trainer, he gave me permission to take the day off. I can't argue with that, but I'm kind of annoyed that I spent the last half hour text messaging and now I'm just trapped in my house. I want to go to the coffee shop, but I think I'm going to walk so that my car will not get snowed on the whole time I'm there. It is like 3/4 of a mile... I just called to check, and they are "open for now." Sounds like an adventure!
Update: I just spent an hour and a half shoveling my driveway, so I think I have to concede that my trainer was right. I shoveled for an hour and thought I was done, and then I realized that another 2-3 inches had fallen since I started, so I worked my way back to the beginning again. By that time, the snow was already quickly accumulating again, but I was too cold and tired to start a third time. I also was hearing this weird crunching noise behind me. I finally figured out that it was because my hair was frozen. Or so I thought. I figured that my hair had been a little too wet when I went outside and it was just a little crispy, which happens in the winter. But when I got inside, I discovered that was not the case. No, my hair was caked with snow! This is my hair, after trying to get the snow out! Now I'm sitting with a towel wrapped around my head waiting for it to melt. I'm still planning to venture out for coffee though.
Oh, and I have a first date today. Assuming we don't let the snow stop us, it should at least be a good story!
